Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi Wednesday asked all collectors, superintendents of police (SPs) and the police commissioner to take steps to ensure that the annual Plus II examination scheduled to start March 2 are conducted in a smooth, fair and foolproof manner.
“Plus II examinations are of critical importance. Keeping in view its importance, you are requested to take all steps to ensure a smooth, fair and foolproof conduct of the higher secondary examination 2016,” Padhi said in a letter to the collectors and SPs.
He also asked the officials to take immediate steps to convene meetings of all concerned, including the supervisors of the examination management hubs (EMHs) of the districts concerned. The government has established 203 EMHs to ensure safe transmission of question papers and answer scripts. Each EMH is attached to an average of five examination centres.
The question papers would be sent to the EMHs from the council, in two phases. The first phase would be two days before the start of examination and the second phase shall be during the course of the examination, Padhi said.
“The safety and security of the question papers are of utmost importance and, therefore, all steps should be taken to ensure this. The dispatch of question papers to the examination centres on the day of examination in the right time is essential,” he said.
Question papers relating to a particular day will be sent from the EMHs to all 1098 examination centres between 7 am and 9 am on the day of the examination. After the examination ends, the sealed answer book packets will be brought back to the EMHs from where they will be sent to the valuation zones.
The Chief Secretary asked the officials to ensure that the EMHs are under CCTV surveillances, there is an armed police force and tight security round the clock.
The annual examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education will start March 2 and will continue till March 29. Around 3.7 lakh students from across the state will appear for the examaniations. PNN
