Cuttack: Orissa Association for Rowing and Sculling (OARS) will organise the 38th Junior National Rowing Championship at SAI Water Sports Complex, Jagatpur in Cuttack, November 15-18.
“More than 500 rowers from 25 states are expected to take part in this four-day event across four categories. The categories are Single Scull, Double Scull, Coxless Pain and Coxless Four both for men and women,” OARS stated in a press conference Monday
A team of 15 rowers which includes six boys and nine girls will be vying for top honours from the state in all the four categories. The squad: (Boys): Prithibanta Jena, T Johnson Singh, Lajrus Dhanwar, Albin Toppo, Rakesh Tirkey, Alok Minz; (Girls): Reshma Kumari Minz, Deepika Minz, Reshma Lakara, Ritu Kaudi, Kamla Lakra, Sonali Swain, Sobita Soreng, Ashmita Kerketta, Jharana Hasti; Coach: PT Paulose.
