Cuttack, April 21: DAV Public School, CDA emerged champions of the PVR Murthy Memorial Inter-School cricket tournament defeating KISS School convincingly by 53 runs in the final here Thursday.
Electing to bat first, DAV rode on a brilliant half century by ‘Man of the Tournament,’ Sidharth Nayak (67) to muster a total of 115/8 in 25 overs. Amod Majhi (2/10) was the most successful bowler for the losing side.
In reply, KISS were bundled out for 62 against some disciplined bowling by ‘Man of the Final’, Sanat Sahu (3/4).
Former India cricketer and MP Kirti Azad, state sports and youth affairs minister Sudam Marndi and OCA secretary Asirbad Behera joined as guests and distributed the prizes. Footballer Rajeswari Das, coach Chitrasen Patra and cricketer Manoj Nayak were felicitated.
