post news network, Bhubaneswar, June 27: DAV Public School, Pokhariput organised a special felicitation ceremony Saturday to honour the students who secured ranks in their classes, got full marks in various subjects and scored above 90 per cent marks in the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) (Plus-II), 2015.
Along with them, the all-rounders of Classes XI and XII and those who cleared the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) were also awarded on the occasion. The celebration took place on the school premises.
These meritorious students were felicitated with mementoes as well as certificates as a token of honour and encouragement by Omkarnath Mohanty, ex-vice chancellor of BPUT.
Seven students, who were at the top of Science and Commerce streams, Eight students who bagged 100 out of 100 marks in various subjects and 57 students who scored above 90 per cent in the AISSCE were felicitated. Moreover, four toppers of Class XI, Two KVPY qualifiers, and the all-rounders of the academic year were conferred with trophies.
Abhisekh Sahoo, who bagged the second position in the state in the AISSCE-2015 has dedicated his success to his parents as well to his school teachers. “Being in the second position in the AISSCE was not easy. It would not have been possible without any support from my school teachers. I shall remain always grateful to them for their contribution in my life,” said Abhisekh.
“I am overjoyed to say that the number of students securing above 90 per cent is increasing every year. I hope this ceremony will be an inspiration for the upcoming batches. I congratulate all meritorious students and wish them all the best for their brightest future,” said Sujata, the Principal of the school.
