Bhubaneswar, May 6: In a first for any domestic bank, private sector lender DCB Bank Friday launched Aadhaar –based ATM in the state which accepts a customer’s Aadhaar number and fingerprint impression, in addition to the usual debit card security options. After opening of first such ATM in Dhenkanal Friday, the bank said this facility would soon be extended to other ATMs in the state in next six months. The private sector lender also opened five new branches in Bijipur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Palla and Pathar Pada.
DCB Bank has 21 branches and 18 ATMs in the state and the bank plans to increase its footprint in the current financial year. “We will add 11 more branches in the state this fiscal, which will be increased to 42 in next three years. Similarly, ATM count will reach 36 during this period,” Managing Director & CEO of the bank, Murali M Natrajan told reporters here. On total business in the state, he said it stood at around Rs 1,000 crore as of now. “We are hopeful of achieving a total business of Rs 1,900 crore in next two to three years through branch expansion,” Natrajan said adding the bank is eyeing 23-25 per cent growth in overall business during this fiscal.
Talking on pan India performance, Natrajan said the bank clocked a total business of Rs 19,000 crore during last fiscal which included Rs 13,000 crore of advances. “Mortgage-based lending has the biggest share in our advances with 43 per cent share. Agri advances of the bank stood at 17 per cent,” he said. Similarly, corporate lending of the bank had a share of 15 per cent with 12 per cent share of SMEs. On capital adequacy ratio of the bank, he said it stands at 14.11 per cent and the bank has no recent plans to raise fresh capital. “The bank has gross NPA (non-performing assets) of 1.51 per cent and the net NPA of 0.75 per cent,” Natrajan said adding the bank has seen fall in NPA levels.
