Bolangir/Loisingha: A pall of gloom descended on Ghushuramunda in Loisingha block of Bolangir district after the news of the death of a cameraman of the village in a Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh spread Tuesday.
Achyutananda Sahu was a cameraperson in the news team of national broadcaster Doordarshan in New Delhi. He was accompanying a team for news coverage at Aranpur in Dantewada district of the neighbouring state when he along with two police personnel were killed the ambush at around 11 am in a forest area near Nilawaya village, around 450 km from Raipur.
Achyutananda was married two years back and is survived by his wife Himanjali Sahu, father Narendra Sahu and mother Tulasi Sahu.
He had his school and college education from Birmaharajpur in Subarnapur district and joined Doordarshan four years back after taking voluntary retirement from the Indian Army.
He returned home after retirement and did a course on cinematography from the state government owned Biju Patnaik Film and Television Institute in Cuttack.
After completing the course, Achyutananda worked as a Gram Rojgar Sevak for two years at Budhipadar panchayat office near his village before joining Doordarshan.
