Bhubaneswar: The state-level death anniversary of martyrs Raghunath Mohanty and Dibakar Parida was observed with solemnity Saturday.
Speakers recalled their sacrifice, courage and patriotism during the Ranpur Prajamandal Movement against British rule and oppressive monarchy.
The programme, organised by the I&PR department, Raghu–Dibakar Memorial Committee and Ranpur Cultural Council at Jayadev Bhavan, began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and floral tributes to the martyrs.
I&PR department Director (Technical) Gurbir Singh delivered the welcome address, describing the ideals and sacrifice of Raghu–Dibakar as guiding principles for today’s society. Khurda MLA Prasanta Kumar Jagadev, the chief guest, emphasised the importance of remembering these brave sons of the soil, noting that their courage and sacrifice have enriched the nation’s history and will continue to inspire future generations.
