New Delhi, Sept 15: Indian cyclist Deborah Herold, a Tsunami survivor who is currently ranked fourth in the world, is seeking crowd funding to purchase a customised cycle to participate in the upcoming Track World Cup in Glasgow.
Deborah needs to purchase a cycle worth rupees seven lakhs to be at par with her competitors from different parts of the world.
With the right training and exposure, she believes she can achieve glory and make India proud. She is also planning to try and qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Speaking on her preparations for the championship in November, Deborah said, “I am looking forward to demonstrate my best form and skills in the championship in Glasgow. I’m training rigorously and hope to achieve the standards set by my coach and eventually win medals for my country.”
At the ongoing Track Asia Cup in Delhi, Deborah took home two gold medals after beating Malaysia, Hong Kong and Kazakhstan in two different events.
