Mumbai: In what is great news for fans of Hindi cinema’s star couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, reports suggest that Deepika could play the role of Ranveer’s wife in a cameo appearance in the film ‘83’.
Apart from this, she will also co-produce the film with Kabir Khan.
The film ’83’ will focus onformer Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev and his wife Romi Bhatia’s love story.

The film will feature many dramatic scenes including one where Kapil’s wife leaves the stadium because she feels like the Indian team might lose a match. However, she returns later when the team starts playing well.

Deepika and producer Kabir Khan are good friends and Deepika is reportedly impressed with the film’s script.
Deepika also feels that ’83’ is not just a sports drama but an emotional and inspiring story as well. Perhaps this is the reason why Deepika wants to co-produce the film.
On work front, Deepika is busy in Gulzar’s ‘ Chhapaak ‘, which is based on the true story of acid attack survivor Lakshmi Agrawal.
