Anandapur: A delivery agent was electrocuted and two others were critically injured after coming in contact with an 11 KV transmission wire while unloading parcels from a vehicle near a hotel along National Highway 20 under Ghasipura police limits in Keonjhar district Monday.
The deceased was identified as Susanta Das of Mangalpur village under Ghasipura police limits and the critically injured as Kabindra Das of Padmapur village and Ranjan Kumar of Fakirpur.
According to police, the trio was unloading goods at a courier company’s warehouse when a rope attached to the vehicle accidentally touched an overhead 11-KV high-tension wire. The vehicle became electrically charged killing Susanta on the spot while injuring Kabindra and Ranjan.

The injured duo was rushed to the Anandapur sub-divisional hospital in critical condition. Family members alleged negligence on the part of the courier company and demanded compensation for the deceased and full medical expenses for the injured workers.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation over a complaint lodged by the family members.
