Bhubaneswar: Demolition activities were carried out Tuesday at government quarters allotted to ex-MLA and BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das in Bhubaneswar, a source said.
As the matter came to fore, three officials from the General Administration (GA) Department reached Das’ quarters, the source added.
Clarifying on the demolition activity, Das, in a video message, said that the quarters are in his possession till July 15. He informed that he has received a notice to vacate the quarters by July 4.
Das said, “I was the organisational secretary of BJD, many of our party leaders and workers used to meet me at the official quarters. So, to accommodate them, a temporary extension was built in the official residence which is now being removed.”
Das further said that the quarters would be returned to the GA department in the condition in which they were allotted to him by eliminating the new structures that were raised during his possession.
