Bhubaneswar: The Bargarh District Education Officer (DEO), a Block Education Officer (BEO), and a physical education teacher (PET) of a government-run school in the district were arrested on charges of sexually harassing a woman employee of the S&ME department, police said Thursday.
“DEO Jyoti Kanta Sahu, BEO Surendra Sahu, and Sameer Panigrahi, a PET of a government school in the district, were arrested after a woman employee of S&ME department levelled sexual harassment allegations against them,” ASP Siba Prasad Biswal said.

The accused were arrested under multiple sections of BNS and Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2023 based on a complaint lodged by Bargarh Deputy Collector Sumati Panda Wednesday, he said.
