Fans of the comedy show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ are in for a treat as Disha Vakani, who played the character Dayaben in the show, is very likely to make a comeback.
The actress had left the show in 2017 to spend time with her daughter. It was widely speculated that Disha would quit the show altogether with reports suggesting that Ami Trivedi or Vibhoutee Sharma would replace her on screen but it looks like Disha will cement her place in the popular sitcom once again.
Show’s producer Asit Kumarr Modi confirmed to the media that Disha is indeed making a comeback.
“We are positive that Disha will make a comeback on the show as Daya. It might take a month’s time. Time and again, we have been asking her to be back on the show. However, she wasn’t ready and told us, ‘Meri beti abhi chhoti hai, how can I leave her alone?” But now, she seems to have made up her mind to make a comeback,” he said.
“Disha and the production house never had any negative conversations in the past. We were always insisting on having her back on the show. We have tried to push the story for two years without Dayaben, but we definitely want her back on the show,” he added.
Disha is yet to comment on the matter.
