Bhubaneswar: Dr Rama Raman Mohanty replaces Dr CBK Mohanty as the new Director of Medical Education & Training (DMET), Odisha.
Dr Rama is replacing Dr CBK Mohanty whose tenure ends October 31. The former is presently serving as Dean and Principal of PRM Medical College & Hospital, Baripada.
Notably, Dr CBK Mohanty’s tenure was to end April 30. But the government had extended his tenure in view of the Covid-19 situation in the state.
He has been serving as Director of Medical Education & Training since 2019. His is a known name for giving suggestions to the government to manage Covid-19 pandemic successfully. Given his long experience in the field of health science, the government has been preparing strategies to win the battle against coronavirus, taking his suggestions into account.
He has also been playing a key role in keeping people informed about the disease.
