Old Town/Pipli, June 23: Bilipada villagers under Pipli block stumbled upon a skeleton and some bones from a pond Tuesday, raising suspicion about a murder.
According to sources, the villagers were desilting the local Brahmani Pokhari (pond) along National Highway No.203 when they found the skeleton. An earth mover and a tractor were drafted to take up the renovation work. When the tractor dredged a heap of silt near Bilipada Upper Primary School the skull and ribs were found.
Many curious villagers reached the spot as soon as the news of skeleton spread. Many suspected that some miscreants might have murdered a person and dumped the body in the pond in a bid to destroy evidence. However, police could not reach the spot till the last report was filed.
