Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: The 22nd State Snooker and Billiards Championships got underway here Saturday with most of the top players registering easy wins over their respective rivals. The matches are being played at the Vintage Club in two sessions – morning and evening.
Subrat Das and Asutosh Padhy won their respective matches while Indrajit Sarangi won one of his ties and lost the other. In the first match of the day, Indrajit defeated Rohit Sharma 2-0 (151-123, 150-107). The match was much close than the scorline suggests. However, in his second match on the day Indrajit went down tamely to Subrat 0-2 (151-51 150-47). In another game Asutosh defeated Nishant Biswal 2-0 (151-98, 151-124).
