Bhubaneswar, August 12: England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) officials and Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) officials Friday met commissionerate police to discuss security arrangements at Barabati Stadium during India-England one-day international (ODI) match January 19, 2017.
ECB officials John Donald Carr, Anthony Eatherdale, and Reginald Clyde Dicason along with top OCA officials met twin city police commissioner Yogesh Bahadur Khurania at commissionerate police’s office here and discussed the security arrangements during India-England ODI match January 19, 2017.
Police Commissioner told Orissa POST that OCA officials have decided to reduce the sitting capacity of Barabati Stadium from 45, 000 to 41, 000.
“A recce meeting on security arrangements for the ODI at Cuttack January 19, 2017 was held here Friday. Apart from stands, all the seats in the galleries will be numbered in a bid to avoid overcrowding. All stands will be covered with CCTV cameras; nets will be installed at all the galleries to ensure the players security. No water bottles will be allowed and taps will be installed in all the galleries and stands,” he said.
Commissionerate police officials have pulled up their socks in the wake of the crowd trouble at Barabati Stadium during the T20 international between India and South Africa in October, 2015.

Earlier, Board of Control for Cricket in India had announced the dates and venues for the upcoming home series against England that consists of five tests, three ODI and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
England will play the second one-day international against the hosts in Cuttack.
