Cuttack: Rising Student Club (RSC) and East Coast Railway (ECoR) recorded comprehensive victories over their respective opponents in different matches of the FAO Ist division league at the Barabati Stadium here, Thursday.
A goal each from Manoj Murmu and Arbind Lakra on either halves of the match saw RSC cruise past Chand Club 2-0 comfortably in an exciting match which saw a number of chances being missed by both the clubs.
However, Manoj Murmu gave RFC the lead in the 16th minute when his low-angled shot saw the back of the net. RFC did get some chances after that but couldn’t convert any going into the break with a 1-0 scoreline.
Arbind Lakra, who missed a couple of chances in the first half finally found the back of the net in the 66th minute to seal the match in their favour.
In the other match of the day Sanjit Panna struck in the 31st min to help ECoR pip Radhagobinda Club 1-0 to continue their winning streak in the tournament.
