Saintala: Police Sunday recovered the body of a Chemical Process Worker (CPW) from the Badmal ordnance factory premises in Bolangir district.
The cause of death remains unclear, officials said. According to police, two explosive-laden vans from the Aruvankadu factory in Tamil Nadu arrived at the Badmal unit Saturday evening under the supervision of CPW D. Balakrishna.
The vans were parked near the factory’s bachelor mess, where the team was permitted to rest for the night. However, the driver reportedly found Balakrishna lying dead behind one of the vans Sunday morning and informed factory officials, who in turn alerted Badmal police.
Officers seized the body and have begun an investigation. Police said the exact circumstances surrounding the death will be known only after the post-mortem report is available.
