Basudevpur: A woman farmer died from snakebite on her farmland at Bideipur Palamandalpada village under this block in Bhadrak district, Monday.
The deceased was identified as Gouri Mandal; wife of Badal Mandal in the village. Family members rescued her in critical condition and rushed her to the Basudevpur hospital where doctors pronounced her brought dead.
Kasia Marine police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem. The mishap occurred when a venomous snake bit Gouri on her leg while she was working on her farmland.
