Mahakalpara: A young farmer Friday was electrocuted to death after coming in contact with a live wire at Jamboo village of Jamboo panchayat under Jamboo marine police limits in Kendrapara district.
Sources said Biju Mirddha (22) had laid an electric wire at his farmland to save his crops from wild animals Thursday. At night a wild boar had died after coming in contact with the wire. Friday morning, Biju went to his farmland. And it was when he was trying to get the boar- entangled in the wire — out that he suffered the shock.
It was also doing the rounds that Biju got killed while trying to kill the animal.
Jamboo forest department and police officials have reached the spot and started an investigation.
