What’s your chill-out outfit?
People always see me in dresses but, to be honest, I am a blue jeans, white t-shirt kinda girl.
Do you like bold colours or subtle shades?
I love white, but otherwise, I am all for red, blue and black.
How would you describe your style?
Glamorous, feminine, chic and sexy.
When it comes to jewellery, would you choose heavy pieces or light ones?
Always the light ones, I am not a huge fan of jewellery. I wear bigger pieces with Indian wear. Then I try everything from jhumkas to mathapattis depending on the outfit.
In your wardrobe, what occupies more space: traditional outfits or western outfits?
Definitely western outfits such as dresses, jackets… one whole cupboard is for denim and t-shirts. But the biggest space is occupied by my fabulous collection.
Your style icon?
I love Jennifer Lopez. She looks amazing in everything. Be it street style, stage style, or red carpet style, I love it all. I also like Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively and Kim Kardashian.
If you had to list five style icons, they would be…
Rita Hayworth, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Rekha and Maharani Gayatri Devi are timeless and true icons through generations.Otherchoices would be Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Kangana, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker, and no one can deny that Sonam has really upped the style quotient in India.
How long does it take you to get dressed?
On a day-to-day basis, 15 minutes including hair and a little makeup. While going for an event or a night out, 90minutes maximum.
What’s the best part of being you?
I have my own identity and I know what works for me. Most of the time, I don’t use a stylist.
What is fashion, according to you?
Fashion is fun, it’s a way to express how you are feeling through the outer self; girlie, sexy, androgynous, strong, glamorous, feminine. But you shouldn’t take fashion very seriously because according to me, style is more important. Fashion is what you buy and style is what you do with it.
