BHUBANESWAR: Kurtis have always been a popular choice in the Indian subcontinent due to its humid weather. Among numerous Kurtis available in the market, Jaypuri Kurtis seem to be the real deal as it is the perfect combo of style and tradition. On brief interactions with Orissa Post, various sellers and buyers threw some light on the ever increasing popularity of this northern wear.

Bandana Jaiswal, owner of Jaiswal fashion at Bapuji Nagar, said, “My boutique has a wide range of Jaipuri kurtis, embroidered kurtis, angrakha style kurtis and block printed kurtis. Paired with fine pieces of Salwar, these kurtis are suitable for daily use as well as party wear. A diverse range of decoration work goes into these kurtis including floral designs, zari patchwork and mirror work among others. We work diligently to find latest designs in the fashion world. We make use of these designs to manufacture kurtis which would cater to the needs of women of all age groups.”

Subasini Aamna, a designer from New Delhi, is well documented for her Jaipuri collection. A variety named Dabu Indigo seems to be the most popular one in her collection. Her assemblage offers a wide range of Dabu Indigo printed Salwar Suits, Bagru print suits, hand block print Chiffon Dupatta Suits and Rapid print ladies salwar suits among others at affordable prices.

Rohan Awasthi, a small Kioski owner at Unit VI, stacks his shop with Jaipuri Kurtis, which he procures directly from Jaipur. Rohan Said, “I supply elegant Anarkali Kurtis made of the finest cotton and decorated with stunning patterns. Anarkali Kurtis come in vibrant colours, aesthetic designs and suitable sizes.”

Actress Barsha Priyadarshini said, “Classy clothing is not just a necessity but a reflection of one’s unique taste. Therefore, I have been a great fan of Jaipuri Kurtis as its not only comfortable but also stylish”.

Swagat Mukherjee, a costume designer from Bhubaneswar, said, “Front slit Kurtis are quite popular among contemporary women. Hence one should instantly pick this beautiful piece from Jaypuri Kurti range. Floral hand block prints over cotton fabric makes it a stunning choice. With a stylish buttoned front, quarter sleeve and round neckline, it can augment the look of any woman. Maximum trending designs belong to this stunning northern wear.”

Kalamandir, a popular fashion destination, has the most varieties of such Kurtis. Floor manager Karishma Nanda said, “Get ready to dive into the world of ethnicity and fashion trends as we unveil the most innovative, creative and fresh collections in women ethnic wear with Jaypuri Kutis. Its popularity makes us stack our collection for the whole year.”

Rather than wasting time and money on western Kurtis, it’s advisable to try out Jaipuri Kurtis. Rich in style and substance, this elegant northern wear is trumping all other trends. Carving a niche for itself in a very short span of time, Jaipuri Kurtis are here to stay for some time.
