“As far as the final approval of the mega food park at Deras is concerned, sanction of term loan is essential. A copy of sanction letter of Allahabad Bank will be submitted to Ministry of Food Processing Industries for enabling final approval of Inter Ministerial Approval Committee (IMAC),” a state government communication said.
“Credit from NABARD under special fund of Rs 2,000 crore may be obtained without government guarantee subsequently,” it added.
It also said that a state of the art food testing laboratory may be set up in the food park.
With regard to the proposed food park at Rayagada, the letter said as the term loan is not yet drawn from any bank, sanction of loan from Punjab National Bank may be required with immediate disbursement.
“IDCO will assess whether adjoining land near MITS mega food park at Rayagada can be acquired,” the letter said.
The MSME department has also proposed to create a dedicated food processing cell both at directorate and secretariat levels with deployment of necessary manpower for the same.
In order to encourage food processing industry in the state, DICs and RICs should play proactive roles, it noted.
