Rayagada: Fire broke out at the camp of CRPF 4th Battalion in Rayagada Saturday due to an electric short-circuit. Properties worth over Rs 40 lakh were gutted in the mishap.
As fire broke out, CRPF jawans abortively tried to douse it. Firemen rushed to the camp and brought the blaze under control after two to three hours.
Public relations officer of the CRPF camp, Tejraj Mishra said piles of blankets, warm clothes, sports implements, furniture and documents were destroyed in the fire.
