Jajpur: Panic gripped patients and attendants at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here in Jajpur district late Tuesday night after a massive fire broke out at a storeroom in the premises of the hospital.
Things worth lakhs of rupees kept in the storeroom were reduced to ashes in the mishap. However, no casualty was reported in the mishap.
On being informed, fire personnel reached the spot and doused the flames.
Though the reason behind the fire outbreak is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that an electrical short circuit might have led to the mishap. The hospital authorities have ordered for a departmental probe into the incident.
Earlier, a similar fire breakout was reported from Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital while some employees were preparing food using a stove.
