The government has identified 12 acres of land and work would commence soon, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Krishan Kumar said here after the meeting Friday. A sub-committee had been constituted to work out the project, he added.

The free Adarsh Gurukul education would follow CBSE pattern up to Class XII. Apart from CBSE syllabus, they would be trained in traditional system of temple nitees and rituals to enable them perform their religious duty perfectly.

The space around Srimandir and Gundicha temple would be aesthetically developed as heritage corridor along with provision for pilgrim amenities.

The temple body which legally owns all endowment property of mutts discussed displacement of commercial shop operators from the mutts and their rehabilitation.

The temple body empowered the collector to take decision for their suitable rehabilitation and resettlement. It was also resolved to develop Jagannath Ballabh mutt as the pleasure garden of lord Jagannath into a beautiful modern religious park.

A new body “mutts mandir sanskruti sammittee” has been formed for better coordination among the temple and the mutts. These proposals would be sent to the state government for approval and with a plea to incorporate these in the mega ongoing development projects announced by Chief Minister Naven Patnaik to ensure security of the temple and develop the city as world heritage site.

The temple body expressed concern over observance of annual Rath Yatra on various dates in India and other countries across the globe violating the religious tenets.

It was resolved to initiate steps to ensure that annual Rath Yatra of lord Jagannath to be observed by organisers on Ashadha Sukla dwitiya.

Efforts would be made to sensitise the organising bodies to maintain uniformity in holding nitees and rituals of the Trinity. The temple body further resolved to sell the temple land through e-auction and the sale proceeds would be deposited in temple corpus fund.

Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, the ex-officio chairman of temple body, presided over the meeting. SJTA chief administrator Krishan Kumar, Puri Collector Balwant Singh, Puri SP Uma Shankar Dash, servitor families besides member officials of Law and other concerned departments attended the meeting.
