Former Chhatrapur MLA Parshuram Panda dead

Chhatrapur: Former Chhatrapur MLA Parshuram Panda passed away at his residence in Purunapatna under Chikalkhandi panchayat Saturday. He was 85.

Panda was the Chhatrapur MLA from 1990 to 1995. Representing the Communist Party of India (CPI), he had own appreciation for his organisational skills in the Chhatrapur Assembly segment.  Panda started his political career as a sarpanch of Chikalkhandi in 1977. He is survived by five children.

Former deputy speaker and state planning board member Rama Chandra Panda, Chhatrapur MLA Priyanshu Pradhan, former MLAs Ashok Kumar Choudhury and N Narayan Reddy, CPI district secretary Prakash Patra and a host of party leaders and people from various walks of life visited his residence and paid homage to the departed soul.
