Rayagada: At least four persons died and two others sustained grievous injuries after their vehicle rammed into a tree on the roadside at Tayaput under Kashipur block in Rayagada district Sunday night.
According to reports, some youths of Kashipur area went to Rayagada in a Mahindra Bolero to watch the Chaiti Festival. While they were returning home, the driver lost control over the wheels following which the SUV rammed into a tree killing four of them on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Naveen Majhi, Nabi Majhi, Papu Majhi and Rabi Majhi.
On receipt of information, police and fire personnel reached the spot, rescued the injured ones and admitted them to the district hospital.
