Angul: In a big success, the Excise sleuths here raided two separate places and seized a total of 108 kg ganja, Friday. Six persons were detained in this connection along with the seizure of a car and a Bolero involved in the smuggling of the contraband.
The Excise department acted on a tip-off they received regarding smuggling of cannabis from Boudh to Balasore district. 48 kg of the banned substance was seized from a car at Boinda chowk and another 60 kg of the contraband from a Bolero near Mundasahi chowk. Three accused in the vehicle were arrested. Interestingly, the smugglers had tried to mislead the officials telling them that they were distributing wedding cards, but failed to fool the sleuths.
