Berhampur: A girl student at a private school here says she was allegedly harassed by two lady teachers. The teachers intentionally gave her poor marks in the examination, among other forms of harassment, a complaint made by her parents to the authorities alleged.
The girl told her parents that the two teachers were not involving her in project sessions. She was also being humiliated in front of the entire class, she said. “They do not allow me sit on the bench. They even made me stand throughout their class, by way of punishment, but for no fault of mine,” the girl complained.
The girl’s parents told the sub collector that she was under stress due to the harassment and not able to perform well in the exams. “We spent more than Rs 1lakh on her education every year. But, the harassment of the teachers has left my daughter in extreme stress,” the girl’s mother alleged.
The parents demanded a probe and stringent action against the two teachers.
The sub-collector assured them of action after a probe. “During investigation, it will be clear whether the charges levelled against the teachers are true or not. Accordingly action will be taken,” said sub-collector of Berhampur, Siddharth Swain.
