Keonjhar: Amid the reported claim that the Nandighosha chariot of Sri Sri Baladevjew Temple in Keonjhar is the tallest one in the world, a special team from the Global Records and Research Foundation (GRRF), an international agency, visited the temple to verify the claim Tuesday.
The team, led by the head of GRRF (India) Manmohan Rawat, checked the documents related to the chariot here and held talks with sub-collector and executive officer of the endowment department Somnath Pradhan.
The Chandigarh-headquartered GRRF (India) is affiliated to several multinational record keeping agencies like Holland Book of Records, Australia Book of Records and Asia Pacific Records.
The agency keeps track of records in all sectors like national records, women and children’s records.
Rawat said that the agency has been working to identify and verify claims and recognise the cultural and traditional heritage and monuments at the national and global level.
His research team has collected related documents from Pradhan and will review them before giving its stamp of approval to the claim on the height of the chariot.
People of the district hoped that the Nandighosh chariot they have been pulling for years here will find a place in the Limca Book of Records and Guinness Book of World Records.
