Bhubaneswar: Goa batsman batted with determination to force a draw Thursday against Orissa in their under-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy match which ended at the Gandhi Stadium in Bolangir. Orissa earned three points from the game by obtaining the first innings lead.
After being forced to follow-on, Goa batters played patiently through the day after resuming at their overnight score of 27 without loss and ended on 289 for the loss of four wickets. Infancio Correiea (55, 152b, 12×4) and Srinivas Fadte (62 n o, 104b, 12×4, 1×6) were the most notable contributors for Goa. Abhijit Ghana (2/52) was the pick of the Orissa bowlers.

Put into bat first, Orissa rode on a hurricane century by Sukhram Majhi (107) to notch up a challenging total of 183 for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, UP could manage only 80 all out in 17.4 overs. Pankaj Bhue scalped three wickets for Orissa.
