Jagdalpur: As the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh are getting closer, the government distributed free mobiles to people. All political parties promise to give freebies to free the voters in their election manifesto.
However, who will provide network in the villages. It is a known fact that there is no mobile connectivity in the larger area of Chhattisgarh.
In a glaring example is the plight at Kawapal area under Jagdalpur. People here in the village have to climb a 50-foot tree to get network.
Here people climb on a tree to talk to the mobile. Some have to go to house roofs to get network. Situation worsens during medical emergencies. The people have to climb the tree using a ladder to get network and called an ambulance.
A resident says, “There is a lot of problem in our village, especially mobile network. We have to climb the tree to call 108 in the emergency and there is a lot of problem.”
Another says, “When we need people, we have to search for the tower.”
Meanwhile, the government has decided to provide smart phones to women and school-college students. The government is saying that he will fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Digital India’ in Chhattisgarh. The smart phones will be distributed for free as the state government has tied up with Reliance Jio.
