Basudevpur: Tension ran high at Brahmana Gaon market under this block in Bhadrak district as locals staged a road blockade Monday morning in a protest against an attack on two youths during an altercation between youths of two communities Sunday night. One of the two youths had been seriously injured in the fight due to past enmity.
There was more violence. While the road blockade was being staged, some men set a godown on fire. The fire force reached the spot and tamed the fire.
Police said tension was prevailing in the area. Bhadrak and Basudevpur police officials reached the spot and were trying to bring the situation under control. There was fear of more violence, locals said.
The family of a minority community indulged in violence first, and other locals angered over this set a godown on fire, as per first reports.
