Ruma Guha Thakurta
Kishore Kumar’s first wife was Ruma Guha Thakurta aka Ruma Ghosh who passed away this year in June at the age of 84. Ruma was an actress. She married Kishore Kumar in 1950 and their marriage lasted till 1958. Both were married with a son Amit Kumar. However, after 8 years of marriage, Kishore Kumar’s relationship with Ruma soured and eventually they got divorced.
By the time Madhubala and Dilip Kumar were about to part ways, Kishore Kumar divorced his first wife. Madhubala and Kishore were working together in several films and were attracted to each other. In 1960, the couple got married. Kishore was aware of Madhubala’s disease and took her to London for treatment where doctors failed to give him hope. Then Kishore left Madhubala with her father and sister. She had a ventricular septal defect (hole in the heart).
After Madhubala’s death, Yogeeta Bali came in Kishore Kumar’s life and both got married. However, after two years their relationship they broke up. Superstar Mithun Chakraborty was the reason behind it. Yogeeta’s heart started beating for Mithun amidst her rift in the relationship with Kishore Kumar. Yogeeta without caring about the society, married Mithun. Yogita is now a mother of four children and away from the world of glamour.
Leena and Kishore Kumar worked in the film Pyar Ajnabi Hai. From there, their love blossomed. Leena was coming out of the shock of her first husband’s death. Both started liking each other. Leena’s father was not ready for their marriage, as Kishore kumar was 20 years older than Leena and had already had three marriages. Leena went against her father’s wish and married Kishore Kumar in 1980. However, the genius died October 13, 1987.
