Mumbai: Birthday girl actress Shriya Saran Bhatnagar was born 11 September 1982 in Haridwar. Being a one of the top actresses in the South Indian film industry, she started her acting career in 2001 with a video.
Shriya married secretly to Russian boyfriend and national-level tennis player Andrei Koscheev 12 March 2018, after being a relationship for long time. Only two individuals from Hindi film industry were invited in Shriya’s wedding.
According to reports, Manoj Bajpayee and Shabana Azmi attended the wedding with close friends and family members being on the other guests’ list.
She did her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi after schooling from Delhi Public School. She was first trained by her mother in Kathak and Rajasthani folk dance. Later, famed danseuse Shovana Narayan trained her Kathak.
While during the learning rope, Shriya got a big opportunity in the music video Thirakti Kyun Hawa. This was Shriya’s first performance in front of camera. Shot in Banaras (now Varanasi), the video was seen by Ramoji Films who offered her the lead role of Neha in their film Ishtam. Saran accepted the role and even before it was released she was signed for four more films.
In 2003, Shriya did a supporting role in her first Hindi flick, Tujhe Meri Kasam, starring debutants Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza in lead.
In 2004, she acted in Thoda Tum Badlo Thoda Hum, but did not get any special benefit from the films. After featuring in Shivaji: The Boss, she became an overnight star in the south Indian film industry.
The film was a smash hit at the box office. Shriya has also appeared as Ajay Devgn’s wife in the Hindi film Drishyam.
