Kendrapara: In a dangerous development which occurred Thursday afternoon the Haridaspur-Paradip railway track slided approximately 30 feet in wide near Khasadi area of Jadupur under Marshaghai block in the district, a report said.
It is known that, Haridaspur-Paradip railway line had also split apart a day before, following incessant rain in the region. The splitting of the newly-constructed railway line has triggered resentment in this area.

Local residents alleged that severe irregularities have taken place during the laying of the railway tracks. They have also informed Kendrapara District Collector Samarth Verma regarding this development after meeting him Thursday evening.
“Six houses near the railway lines were badly damaged due to previous splitting of the tracks. Repeated sliding of the Haridaspur-Paradip railway line has left us in panicky,” local villager Harish Mohanty said.
Soils and murrams are coming out from sides of the railway tracks. Kendrapara district administration should conduct an inquiry in this matter. The administration should take necessary steps for safety of life and property of people, some residents said.
