Baripada: Hopes for NAC tag to Betanoti block in Mayurbhanj district have brightened as district urban development agency has asked for a report in this regard from Baripada sub-Collector.
Mayurbhanj is the most populous and the largest district in the state. The district has 26 blocks while Baripada and Rairangpur are two municipalities. Besides, there are two NACs like Udala and Karanjia.
Locals have been alleging that Betanoti has not yet gone through remarkable development for lack of political willpower. They also blamed it on the district administration.
Orissa POST had carried a report about the NAC tag for Betanoti.
District Collector and chairman of the district urban development agency Vineet Bhardwaj has asked the Mayurbhanj sub-Collector to furnish a report about exploring the NAC status for Betanoti.
It may be mentioned here that the urban development department also sought data about it in September, 2014 and December, 2015.
