Cuttack, Feb 3: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Tuesday despatched the first lot of admit cards to the examination zones in far-off places for the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations scheduled to commence February 23.
“The admit cards sent to the zones in all the districts this evening would be kept at the zones for at least two-three days for verification after which they would be sent to the office of the respective district education officers (DEOs). The board has requested the centre superintendents to collect the admit cards from the DEOs and hand them over to the schools which are tagged to the centre,” BSE president Dakhya Prasad Nanda told the media here.
Since the Board had decided against acceptance of handwritten admit cards this year, mistakes found in the admit cards should be brought to the notice of the Board to help avail adequate time to generate error-free admit cards and send it to the concerned schools, he added.
The Board will start despatching question papers for the first three days of examinations to the nodal centres February 11. “We have decided to despatch these question papers to the nodal centres in the remote districts in the western and southern zones in the first phase. The questions papers would be sent to the remaining centres in the next phase,” Nanda added.
Moreover, the Board is in the process of identifying sensitive and extra-sensitive centres through the DEOs where an observer would be posted till the end of the examinations.
In view of shortage of OMR sheets last year, the Board has decided to keep 25 additional OMR sheets in stock at each centre where the centre superintendents can use them when necessary.
