Keonjhar: A gang of unidentified burglars looted idols and ornaments from a Lord Hanuman temple at Deogaon village near Ghasipura in this district Saturday night.
The matter came to the fore when the priest found that idols of the goddess and many gold and silver ornaments were missing from the temple Sunday morning.
A complaint has been lodged with the local police.
The looted items included three brass idols, silver and gold ornaments which were used for adorning the idols.
A similar incident was also reported from the district February 26 after a group of unidentified miscreants robbed cash and ornaments worth lakhs from Durga temple near Keonjhar bus stand.
The incident came to the fore when priests of the temple found the locks of the hundi (donation box) broken. They looted cash from the hundi (donation box) and other articles including four silver crowns.
