Bhubaneswar: In a joint drive by the civic authorities, an apartment complex near All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here under Sijua Mouza was sealed Wednesday.
Acting on a case registered in 2015 against Manoj Kumar Patnaik, developer and managing director of Basera Design Private Limited, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA); Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Commissionerate of Police sealed unauthorised buildings on plots 72/523, 73/534, 73/545, 72/548 and 71/540 of its complex.
“Despite several reminders from the Odisha Development Authority (ODA) court under section 92 and sub section of ODA Act 1982, the illegal construction was being carried out. The sealing was effected by the Central Enforcement Monitoring Committee (CEMC) after no response came from the developer,” said BDA enforcement officer Pramod Kumar Patra.
The sealing process, carried out for the first time recently by the BDA, was done in the presence of Subhranshu Sekhar Mohanty, liaison officer at the BDA, four squads of BDA and BMC who were assisted by police officials.
