Bhubaneswar, Jan 17: People of the state are set to have some relief from the prevailing cold wave conditions with the India Meteorological Department predicting an increase in night temperature from January 21.
“The winter in the state is about to come to an end. A few places might witness extreme cold conditions before this, but not as low as that Daringbadi witnessed last month,” said Met director Sarat Sahu. The minimum temperature remained above 10 degree Celsius in most parts of the state in the past 24 hours, except Phulbani, 7.8, Sundergarh, 7.9, Bhawanipatna, 8.2 and Keonjhar, 8.4 degree Celsius.
Met officials have further predicted clear skies for the capital city and adjoining areas Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperature may remain around 27 and 13 degree Celsius in the city respectively Sunday.
