Bhubaneswar, April 9: Several students of the Institute of Management and Information Science (IMIS), Bhubaneswar Thursday thronged their campus auditorium to see many of their college mates taking part in a quiz show organised by the special development classes (a college club) of the college. Twenty groups, each comprising two students, took part in the event, called ‘Enigma’.
The college club often organises events in the college, dedicated to matters related to finance, budget and other management related topics. The quiz show was part of one of those events. “The club often organises events of several dimensions. The quiz was part of one of the activities. Around 40 students took part in the quiz competition. The show was divided into three rounds. This was an event where questions on diverse topics were asked and which helped the students sharpen their skills beyond academics,” said Arupjyoti Mukherjee, 1st year PG student of Finance and Control.
The quiz show, which was spread almost through the day, had questions on such diverse topics as finance, Bollywood, general awareness, e-commerce, business etc. Most of the participants were seen enthusiastically taking part in the event. The audience, which comprised other students of the college, was also seen engaging itself in the quiz show with many trying to find out the answers and sharing their response with their friends sitting nearby.
Ashwini Mahakur and Ahmed Khan, part of a group called ‘Neon’, won the quiz competition and were awarded a cash prize of `1,000 and were given certificates, while the runners up, Pallav Mukherjee and Ashutosh Pratap Singh, bagged a cash prize of `800 and were also given certificates.
