Mumbai: The trailer of the Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan starrer Sui Dhaaga – Made in India was released Monday. Both, the actors took to social medial to share the most waited trailer of the movie that is slated to release September 28.
Varun plays Mauji, a tailor from Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh and Anushka plays his wife and embroidery expert, Mamta. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy and take on Make In India campaign, the film is about finding love and respect through self-reliance.
The trailer shows Mauji as a salesman at a shop that sells sewing machines. He is unable to find work as a tailor and therefore has to suffer the whims of his master and employer. Mamta hates watching him get humiliated all the time and wants him to start working on his own. Together, they fight for respect and starting a business that they can call their own.
The movie seems full of life. While Varun takes the centre stage in the movie, Anushka’s confident, caring and intelligent wife makes us root for her.
Anushka captioned the video: “Varun Dhawan ke sawaalon ka jawab hai….13th August ko! Just 2 days to go for Sui Dhaaga Made In India Trailer.”
While sharing the Sui Dhaaga poster, they had written, “’Dhaage Dhaage pe likha hai silne wale ka naam, aaiye ab humari kahaani sunney,’ Mamta aur Mauji badey mauj se pesh karte hain Sui Dhaaga ka pehla poster, ab trailer k liye zyada waqt nahi bacha.”
The film will also bring together National Award-winning producer-director duo of Sharma and director Sharat Katariya, the team that won hearts with their first collaboration Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
