Rayagada, April 21: In a new revelation in Tikiri shikhya sahayika Itishree Pradhan immolation case, the CBI Tuesday claimed that the doctors instead of providing treatment to her gave priority towards recording her dying declaration.
After analyzing several videos which were recorded by a mediaperson since the incident took place till her death, the investigating official made such claim.
CBI inspector R D Sharma who analyzed those videos which he got from a mediaperson Monday, expressed surprise after seeing that doctors were asking Itishree to record her statement instead of providing treatment to her.
“She had sustained 70 to 80 per cent burns. In such a condition, there was an urgent need of providing treatment to her. But, those doctors frequently asked her to give her statement instead of providing treatment to her,” Sharma said.
He further said that there is a need to conduct inquiry into the reasons for which the doctors were frequently asking her to record her statement while she was not even in a condition to speak.
In another twist to the case, Sharma said that burn injuries were found on all parts of her body except palms. “So, there is a need to conduct inquiry whether someone had set her on fire or she had immolated herself,” he added.
In another revelation, Sharma said that he came to know about three persons of Tikiri area who became very happy after the incident took place.
“All these three persons belong to one family. But, we can’t reveal names of these persons as investigation is underway” Sharma said.
Meanwhile, CBI Tuesday interrogated several persons like trader Pramod Kumar Jain, Utkal Alumina employee Dambaru Nayak, a priest Harihara Mishra and a resident of Tikiri area Harihara Nayak in connection with the case.
