Kendrapara: The STF has started probing the involvement of gangster Tito alias Sayed Ushman Ali’s crime syndicate.
A senior official of STF said Tito was involved in a firing case connected to tender fixing in 2017 under Tirtol police limits and Tirtol police would take Tito on remand in that case. They have communicated this to STF by giving case details.
Similarly, Jagatpur police will take Tito on remand for his involvement in firing on Tahir Ali, the brother of suspected Al Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) operative Abdur Rehman, March 29 near Jagatpur of Cuttack district over a dispute regarding a tender worth around Rs 13 lakh.
Similarly, the Kendrapara police are going to re-open four cases against Tito as he was involved in tender fixing and threatening contractors for money.
The STF sealed the Pattamundai-based Dreams Motors bike showroom in connection with a Tito case Monday evening.
Meanwhile, panic gripped some police and district administration officials over Tito’s threat that he would open a Pandora’s Box. Tito managed to turn his black money into white as several government officials, police personnel and political leaders had an unholy nexus with him.
SP Satyajeet Nayak of STF said, “STF personnel have been conducting an inquiry to unearth information about his business empire and crime syndicate and to ascertain his assets and involvement in crimes.”
The STF personnel have been assessing Tito’s property in and outside the state and they had launched a hunt to nab Tito’s associates, added Nayak.
Tito’s crime network extends to Hyderabad, Kolkota, Chhattisgarh and Bangalore. The STF has started questioning Tito to find out the places where his associates and his gang have been operating.
The STF came to know from a source that Tito has a jewellery in Kolkota and they have started an inquiry, said a senior official.
