Keonjhar: An elderly woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Sendkap village near Sadar in Keonjhar district Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Palo Naik (60).
According to reports, Palo came face-to-face with the jumbo when she had gone to a nearby forest in the wee hours to attend nature’s call. The animal attacked and trampled her to death.
Several injury marks were spotted on her body.
The forest and police officials reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
