Kalam ki Zubaan ventures for new writers

Bhubaneswar: Centre for Cultural & Educational Development (CCED) conducted a fund raising poetry event ‘Kalam ki Zubaan’ at Koshish Action Learning Centre in here, Sunday.

Organisers opined that the event provided a unique platform for budding writers.

Talent search events have become quite common but you would find few where writers are given a chance to exhibit the dexterity of their hands and this is one of those few, said a member of the organising committee.

Around 13 students from different educational backgrounds took part in the event with the support of Koshish Action Learning Centre and KS Photography. The participants were Nirlipta Pattanaik,  Rohit Pathak,  Gaurav Mahant, Alok Nanda, Md Monish Kureshi, Harsh Bhoi, Ananya Priyadarshini, Shyam Sundar Behera, Soumyajeet Banerjee,  Parna Saha, Ponuel Behera, Arup Baran Samal and Lopamudra.

It should be noted here that CCED is a non-profit organisation which is working towards the sustainability and welfare of the society. CCED will donate all the funds raised from the event to the underprivileged children for their study materials. The organisation aims to make a balance in the society in every aspect be it in education, environment, culture, sustainability or sanitation.

Its founder Uttam Kumar said, “As I am a student of Master of Social Work (MSW), I have a grasp of the problems and issues pertaining to the children from poor families.” Through events like this we can find new talents and meanwhile try to uplift the underprivileged ones (children), he added.
