Keonjhar: An 11-year-old tribal student died Monday after being admitted to Padmapur community health centre (CHC) in Keonjhar district, while his family blamed the school authorities in Bhubaneswar for the incident.
The deceased was identified as Milan Oram, the only son of Falguni and Chaitanya Oram of Dhanurjayapur-2 village under Jhumpura block. He was studying in Class VI and staying in a hostel of a private school in Bhubaneswar.
According to family members, Milan fell from his bed at the hostel about a week ago, fracturing his right arm and injuring his leg. The school allegedly failed to inform his parents. His family learned about it only through a call from Milan from the phone of one of his classmates. Milan’s mother and uncle brought him home from the hostel Sunday. The boy stayed at his uncle’s house in Kanaposhi near Padmapur.
